I’m James! Welcome, very pleased to meet you
When I started this website, I wanted to make sure I introduced myself and added a bit of content around who I am what I’m doing and what the plans are. In fact, it will be very little about me personally – I’ll probably veer way off topic and just talk about cats to be honest. After all, that’s what we are here for!
Introducing Freddie and Cooper
So to elaborate more on the “About” section, my name is James and I am first and foremost, relevant to this website anyway, a cat owner. She is called Freddie and is the co-director of this venture. She does get involved with typing posts. This is an example of me getting the eye from Fred (yep, she’s a girl) whilst taking up her usual position, on my work keyboard, and my notepad, rendering me absolutely useless. I do not mind though of course!

As of today, sometime in 2025, she will be 11. That’s about 66 in cat years, and becoming an old woman, however we’ve always thought she was a bit of an old woman when we rescued her from a local cat rescue centre. For you brits reading this, she’s very much a cross between Patsy from Ab Fab and Janet Street-Porter. However, this is not our first rodeo. We also had the loveliest old man we rescued in our old house from Cats Protection, Cooper. We adopted him at a ripe old age of 12, and lived with us to the grand old age of 17.

Cooper was a beautiful soul, and a loveable rogue, he could definitely talk with his facial expressions (in this photo, he has climbed the frame of the garden door and at his age, he was probably wondering how to get down with his wobbly legs). He had also been known to steal many a cooked chicken breast left stupidly by his owner on the kitchen top. We also bought him a catnip plant once. Suffice to say, Cooper being Cooper – he didn’t think it was good enough to take a sniff and roll around a bit, he jumped in the plant pot, rolled around, and got himself very comfortable whilst in the process, snapped all the branches and pretty much killed it off. Needless to say, Coops was endlessly happy that day. If you haven’t spotted it already, Cooper is the cover boy of the site and will pop up a lot throughout my content in the time he had with us, not attempting to get Freddie jealous as she will have her lions share too!
More about myself
I was always thinking about creating a site and have done a lot of research over the years about what I would like to talk about. I even thought about tutorials on the software I use at work being a data analyst. The only flaw there is I would be continuing to “work” after the day ended and I didn’t think this would be very healthy. I also love going to the gym and running but it seems the internet is awash with content to the point of saturation. So when I put to paper what I thought I was most passionate about, the answer was immediately obvious. Half my conversations are about pets and I love talking about my cats, my phone is full of them, so why not give it a go!

Never stop learning!
To coincide with building this site and in attempting to make it as genuine with a little help from the internet, I decided that my passion was not enough and it was time to hit the books. Rest assured, I am doing this by taking a Feline Nutrition course with a view to taking a Feline Behavioural course getting my diploma in both subjects. There are 10 units in the diploma I am taking now and I’m pleased to say I’ve passed the first unit with a 100% score. I felt like I was back at school learning about the cat digestive system, how the pancreas works, and what exactly inflammation is and how that affects our friends health. Informational posts will be part of this site and I hope to hone my artistic skills too!
Thanks for reading!
I’ll conclude this for now by saying thanks for visiting my site and I hope you find the information you need on my site – as of April 2025 we’re still pretty new, so please bear with us until we get the site up to speed!
